Fun With Friends

This month we have been able to get out and see lots of our favorite people. Lucky us! First up was a quick trip to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town to meet up with the Smart girls.
Caleb, Evie, Kylie, Levi in Sherwood Forest.

Caleb & Evie trying to keep up with the older kids.

We got to ride on the train at the zoo and this boy was so excited!
Honorable mention: this was day 4 of potty training and he made it the entire trip there, 4 hours of walking around and the trip home without a single accident!

Next stop was a park play date with our favorite boy cousins (minus baby Liam, but I'm sure he'll be tagging along soon enough!)
Caleb & Levi on the see-saw.

Picnic lunch in the back of Auntie Julie's car because there were a ton of bees who wanted to share our lunch.
Caleb, Levi, Charlie, Jack

This park was right up against the Stanilaus River so our trip wouldn't have been complete without a wade in the water.

We got to see our cousins the following day too when Auntie Julie had a class to teach. These boys get along so well and it's so awesome for them to grow up together.

Then on to our favorite Modesto friends and neighbors for a pizza night:
Jackson, Levi, Caleb
And special thanks to Uncle Bryan for Levi's awesome new shoes! :)

It wouldn't have been a complete picture without Jackson's sister, Kennedy, too!

Levi is Potty Trained!

This process is a long time in coming, mostly because his Mommy wasn't ready. About a year ago Levi showed signs of readiness. We got him a little potty, he went regularly, but never enough to put underpants on him and call it a day. With baby Caleb around I just wasn't ready to knuckle down and make it happen. I thought it was too hard while carrying for a baby. You know what is harder? Potty training a toddler with another toddler running around. My bad. So this time we waited until Daddy was home for a whole weekend so we could run a man to man defense. We talked to Levi about it, tried to prepare him for it, and then he woke up on Friday (a day earlier then my "plan") and announced he was going to wear underpants. Well ok!

Day One: underpants day. No more diapers for this big boy!
And a little brother who wanted to be just like him. :)

"Even big boys take potty breaks!"
Thanks Pull Ups for those annoy commercials that gave us great ideas. And for that iphone app that "called" Levi to tell him it was "time to go potty!"

A very proud little boy with his new potty treat after a whole day of no accidents.

We spent lots of time in our underpants indoors and outdoors. Plus they're so stinking cute, you hate to cover them up!

I tell you, after a few days of potty training, he already seems like a bigger kid.

Lockridge Land Comparison

We have last year's Easter picture framed on our dresser and I look at it every day and laugh a little. I thought I would share it with this year's picture side-by-side so you can see how much our boys have grown and changed, and why it makes me giggle.
Time flies!

Spring Break

This past week Dave had to work out of town so we decided to pack up the crazies and head down to socal with Grammy to visit Papa and play. We didn't get a lot of sleep but we had so much fun!

First stop: Discovery Science Center
Levi playing with the dinosaurs.

Rawr

They had an entire floor dedicated to 'Bob the Builder' and Levi and Caleb loved it!

Grammy & Papa
Even though we didn't go to opening day at Dodger Stadium (Daddy, Uncle Bryan and Auntie Alison did!) we were rooting on our favorite team with our blue.
Dodgers are number one!

Close quarters make for harder times settling down for naps. Make that impossible. At least they're having fun, right?

Next stop: Disneyland

Visiting with "Woo Woo Fire"

"Grammy Mater is right over there!"

Visiting Mater!

The Lockridge boys love them some snacks. Uncle Bryan found this corn on the cob and it was a hit!

And the popcorn was a hit too. Surprised? :)

Dumbo was a favorite. Even if we were pretty done waiting in lines.

Caleb's first time on Dumbo. He loved waving at all the people watching.

We took a break while brother was napping in the stroller. Did they conveniently nap at the same time? No way!

Levi loved Toon Town. Here he is answering the phone. "Herrro?"

Next stop: Manhattan Beach to visit with friends
We met up with four of my girlfriends and 6 out of their 7 (with one on the way) kids. There was a little too much going on to take a lot of pictures but I got this one of Stevie, Levi and Kylie playing in the sand. Levi loved the sand and the water and getting to play with all those sweet little girls. Next time maybe baby Timmy will be up for a little boy time! :)

This big guy was so awesome our whole trip. He showed how patient and helpful and kind he could be. I was so proud! Here he is in one of his patient moments while Mommy was unloading the car from the beach and getting Caleb all situated in the carseat. He likes to "drive" the car but he can't pretend until he first puts on Daddy's sunglasses.

Last stop: the Irvine Spectrum
We headed down the road to look at fountains, do a little shopping, have a quick dinner and, of course, ride the carousel. Levi decided he's pretty hot stuff with his carousel trick riding.

Caleb and Grammy took it a little more seriously, but still smiles all around.

It was a great week with lots of excitement and adventures. The kiddos were fantastic (although we did have a few too-early-for-Mommy mornings) and we can't wait to get to go visit Papa again soon. Thanks Grammy, Papa, Uncle Bryan and Auntie Alison for all your patience and help along the way. We REALLY couldn't do it without you.

March Wrap Up & Easter Celebrations

March was a fun month in Lockridge land and I have a lot of pictures to prove it! :)

Big boys, big swings, baseball shirts.

Ok so, not so exciting but how can I resist posting this cutie in the tub?

We went to the Modesto Marathon expo to check Uncle Bryan's booth. Papa put an ONTHERUN shirt on Levi and he hopped behind the counter to start helping by handing out shoes. We're going to put him to work soon!

Blurry shot but this sweetie pie leaned in for good kiss on the cheek with his Auntie Alison. He's very affectionate, this one. :)

Riding in the stroller to watch Auntie Alison cross the finish line in the Modesto Marathon. Way to go Auntie Alison!

Auntie Sarah and Drew pushing us on more swings. We could ride the swings all day as long as someone is pushing!

Sarah is sitting on the ground? She must need Caleb to sit on her lap!

Auntie Sarah also helped by showing Levi how to climb a tree. We can't tell if that is a happy open mouthed grin or a terrified open mouth but silent scream for help coming from Levi. Either way I stopped to take a picture first. Mother of the year, right? :)

Then with having two local extended families, we had two local Easter celebrations. He is risen indeed!
First family picture attempt.

Caleb

All five cousins waiting patiently for the egg hunt.
Charlie 21months (sitting on Julie), Jack 3 1/2, Levi 2 1/2, Caleb 17 months, Ashley 6

The boys checking out their loot.

Then on to Uncle Charlie & Auntie Tina's for a Lockridge celebration.

Getting a quick guitar (ukelele) lesson from Uncle Charlie.

Family picture attempt #2.

Daddy and Caleb cuddles

Levi hunting for eggs.

Blowing bubbles with Uncle Charlie & Auntie Tina.

Caleb hunting for eggs.
March flew by but we had lots of fun with our families and we love that we live close enough to see them all regularly.
