Caleb is 7 months

Caleb David is 7 months old!

This happy boy is learning lots of new tricks. He's an accomplished roller, sits unassisted, is managing to feed himself puffs and cheerios and has even produced his first two teeth. He has a high pitched voice and babbles and coos to everyone and has a giggle that's infectious. He's playing with toys and especially enjoys whatever his brother is currently playing with. He thinks his Daddy and his big brother are hilarious and he will flirt with any woman in a 100 yard radius. He is so stinking precious it kills me. He's eating (a ton) and loves everything we've sent his way except avocados. He's sleeping from 8pm-7am and still taking 3 naps a day (two long ones and one short evening one). He still likes his pacifier and has figured out how to put it back in his own mouth. Win for Mom & Dad! He's still an easy going, happy boy and he's a joy to have around.

Playing in the backyard with his brother.

Staying in the shade because this fair skinned boy would not last a minute in this valley sunshine!

Floating like the water baby he is.

Riding like a big boy at the Home Depot.
(Levi's driving the cart so this is his "vroom" face!)
We sure do love these Lockridge boys!

Weekend Wedding

Last weekend my cousin Tim got married to his high school sweetheart on a mountain:
Trojan Point, Mt Tamalpais, Overlooking San Francisco

It was magnificent. :) Dave's parents graciously volunteered to watch our kiddos overnight so we were able to spend the night in Mill Valley with the wedding party. It was a fun little excursion to a place we've never been before and a great time to celebrate Tim and Jessica and the beginning of their new life together.

All dressed up at the reception.

Harden Kids (Are we still kids?)

Oh, and did I mention that Dave married them? :) He did a great job--I was so proud! And just because it WAS their wedding, one last picture of the beautiful bride and handsome groom with the Pacific Ocean (and that handsome officiant!) in the background.
Anyone need an officiant? I'm willing to hire him out! :)

What a beautiful wedding Tim & Jess! We're so glad we got to be there to celebrate you and your future together. Hope you're having fun in Costa Rica!

*And thanks Grandma & Grandpa Lockridge for taking great care of our boys so we could hike up the mountain and enjoy the wedding! Love you!*

May Fun

Here's our first week of May with some outside fun and brotherly love:

Caleb is about to crawl any day now. Levi has crawled in circles around him for weeks now yelling "Crawl! Crawl!" but Caleb still hasn't managed to get both his front end and his back end off the ground at the same time. Levi has decided he's done with the whole practice-crawling process so now he tries to give Caleb a "helpful" push in the right direction.

We've taken both boys in the wagon but this is the first time Caleb is sitting up and buckled in. And they have matching hats. Love! :)

Look whose park turned the water back on! Levi was so excited to run and stomp in the puddles, and I promise this is an expression of pure joy, not fear. :)

This is my super classy kid taking batting practice in the backyard. We had just come home from the park and I was able to get the wet clothes off but not the dry clothes on. Oh well. It was too cute not to post, right? :) I know I'm his mom, but he is seriously good at hitting. Like really good. Maybe we have another Lockridge baseball player on our hands.

Playing in the tunnel. Caleb is loving the newfound attention from his big brother and Levi is loving the adoration from yet another fan.

My new favorite thing in the whole wide world: our new video monitor! We found one where we can hook up two cameras to one monitor so we have one in Caleb's room and one in Levi's room. Caleb is precious to watch roll around and sleep but Levi is providing hours of entertainment. I always assumed if he was quiet then he was asleep--not so! He spends a lot of time talking, reading, singing and doing acrobatics in his crib. As long as he's quiet I don't mind at all, but it sure is hilarious. So here's my big guy "napping" or reading a book.

Jam Day 2012

We've been making jam as a family for years now. It's usually a long, fun day of family and hard work but this year was especially long. We made a lot of jam. Like 328 jars. We bought 8 flats of strawberries and ended with 328 jars and 3 entire flats still full of strawberries. We were all a little done with strawberries by the end of the day, but what an accomplishment. Now we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor. :)

The before

Everyone has a job. It's divide and conquer!

Sarah's a master pourer.

I'm pretty good at cutting through the piles of strawberries.

Amy cut and mixed for hours and Aunt Sharon made the jam possible by mixing the pectin.

Caleb even came down to visit and entertain us, instead of napping. So helpful!

Alison blended and Claire mixed.

Jam sisters :)

We missed Julie and Jessica this go around, but I'm sure we'll be making jam again soon And in the meantime they'll still get to enjoy the finished product!
It was a very fun and productive day and another fun, family tradition to carry on. Yay for traditions!

Alison's Bridal Shower

If there's one thing that the Harden girls love to do, it's throw a party! We don't always need a reason, in fact Dave likes to tease us that we can celebrate anything {it's Wednesday! it's sunny! we're wearing matching shirts!} but I like to think of it as being highly positive and encouraging. This time we did have a reason-- one that I couldn't be happier about: My brother is getting married!! Bryan met Alison way back in 1990 when her brother and I attended second grade together. We've known her family for twenty-two years, and who would have thought they would end up together after all this time? She fits right in and we're so thankful that Bryan was smart enough to snatch her up when he had the chance. The wedding is in 32 days and counting, but first we got to shower our soon-to-be sister-in-law at a bridal shower. Yay!

Our attempt at a thrifty, pinterest-y pennant.

Caramel apples, Mom's famous flower arrangements and lots of navy & pink.

Another Mrs. Harden is coming in to the mix!
{Nice finger painting Sarah :) }
