SURPRISE!

A little surprise is what God threw our way this spring... the Lockridges are expecting baby #2!!!

We are incredibly excited to be welcoming our new little one in October and to say we were surprised is the understatement of the year. On a sunny February day, after multiple friends told me they had had a dream about me being pregnant, I told Dave there might be a teeny, tiny chance that I actually was. He asked if I had taken a pregnancy test yet but I told him I wasn't ready to know. (That completely logical rationale alone should have given us a clue! Haha!) He convinced me that now was the perfect time to check and so we found out, within seconds, that we would be welcoming baby Lockridge #2 into our family. Our official due date is October 23rd but because this pregnancy is so close to our last we will be picking a c-section date sometime in the two weeks before that. We waited so long to announce our news to the world because we wanted to make sure to tell our families in person and the first time that opportunity presented itself was Easter lunch. Dave made the announcement before we prayed for our meal and everyone thought he was joking. (It does seem like something he might joke about...but not this time!) Once our families knew and we made a round of phone calls, it was finally time to announce it to the world. It was a surprise, but definitely one of the BEST surprises we could ever be given and we're feeling amazingly blessed to welcome a new little one into our family. Let the next adventure begin!

Maybe a surprise to us on earth, but God has a plan. I'm absolutely sure this is all about God's plan for the Lockridge's. As I scrolled down to read this blog, I went too far down the page and saw my buddy Levi's smiling face and had to "literally" LOL. Mom and I are so very blessed to welcome Eli, Zeek or what ever name you give little Lockridge. And we are here for anything we can help with...especially prayers, baby sitting and special Grandma and Steve time. Hahaha! In my wildest dreams, I would've never thought being Grandpa would be so fun and almost spiritual. I love Levi just as I did you, Bryan and Sarah and can barely wait to see baby Lockridge #2. Blessings come when and when not expected. I know you will, enjoy every minute, cherish the special times and give Levi a Grandpa high-five and a big hug. Can't wait to see you all soon. Love Dad, Steve, Grandpa
